Monday Morning Flowers!!

 It's Spring, My People!

Bring on the fields of flowers!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.

No Such Location Can Be Found on Betty's GPS

Oh my people, I need to find this street and stay there for awhile.

I started a home improvement project (to be revealed later) and it has consumed my life.

All other areas of my life have temporarily been put on hold as I fixate and work on this project like a badger on amphetamines.

Anyway, I am sorry I have not been around much, but I will soon be haunting your blogs again!

Y.O.A!

Feeling listless?  Restless?  At loose ends with your life?  Is the thrill of spinning around in your office chair gone?

Do your ears hang low?  Is your hair limp and lifeless?

Is your once sudsy bar of Zest for life down to a pathetic cardboard-like sliver?

Well, my darlings, look up and look around at that blue light flashing in Betty’s head.  You see, none of this is your fault.  It is mine!

It occurred to me the other day that I had neglected to tell you this year’s theme!  Yes!  And you all were too polite to beg me for it!

You poor things have been waiting beside your closets, ready to base your wardrobe choices on my Theme of the Year and I have been negligent in my duty.  For this, apologize.

(Trumpets, please.)  It is Year of Action.  YOA!  Hear our battle cry “YOA!”

Some of you may remember my past themes of “Year of Service” and “Year of Organization” and who can forget “Year of Grains”?  (I think many of you are still recovering from that.)

So what are the guidelines for YOA?  Simply that when there is a choice between action and non-action, we take action!  (Except of course, when the action may be, well, stupid or rash.)

This means when there is a medical appointment to be made, I make that call.  When there are house repairs that need to be made, I get on it.  When it is time to go to lunch with the gal pals, I text them and get their buttocks to the nearest padded booth so we can have a much-needed confab.

(One of my buddies has suggested that next year be Year of Overreaction. He notes I would be good at it and he is correct.  Now whenever I get too wound up about something, he says, “Hold on until next year then you can overreact!” Since I will be planning a wedding next year, I think the theme of overreacting would be perfect! Don’t you?)

Since January, except for a couple of lazy days, I have been able to stay true to YOA.

A few highlights:  Getting a lot of medical appointments taken care of, getting all three pets to the vet and getting their little bodies attended to, getting engaged (woooooooooo!), firing Jesus-the Gardener and finding a great replacement (the second coming, if you will), and planning and going on a three-week vay-cay to New Zealand and Australia.

So, now you know what this year’s theme is.

Finally, your life has meaning and direction.

Get on those crushed velvet track suits you’ve saved from the 1980’s and get going!  It’s YOA!!

So tell me in your comments, watcha gonna do first?  Huh?  Huh?

Yours in YOA,
Betty

Monday Morning Flowers

Hey My People!

I am back from my travels and have a lot to spout off about in future posts, so stay tuned!

Here are your flowers for the week!

As you can imagine, I have a very long to-do list as I get back into regular life.

Yeah, I'll get to that to-do list real soon, but for right now,  I'll stay right here.

Happy Monday to you all!!

You're only here for a short visit.  Don't hurry, don't worry.  And be sure to smell the flowers along the way.

I send you all big slobbery kisses!  One more day here and then back to Australia for two nights.  Can you handle it?  Can I handle it?  Oh, yes.  I know we can.
