Betty's Guide to Better Living: Closets

Oh yes, oh yes! It's time to dig into Betty's Guide to Better Living Files.

My house was built in the 1970's and has nice big closets.
It also has wooden closet rails that have been painted A LOT.
Even durable high gloss paint will crack and peel under the stress of moving those hangers about.

Enter the $1.29 shower rod cover.

I bought mine at Anna's Linens.  They come in a variety of pretty colors.  I chose brown.

I just slipped it over the rail.  It was really easy!

Now my hangers slide with ease and I don't have to worry about messing up the paint.

Betty will be back from time to time with more handy hints like this!

I'm here for you, my people!

Hope you have happy days!

Shower curtain rod - smart thinking!

Hehe--thanks Betty.

The Mrs. has encroached on my closet space so it is not much of a problem for me here. I am lobbying just to be allowed to wear the same clothes everyday, but have been unable to convince management here of that...

How clever! Now why haven't I ever thought of that? No matter, I'm glad you did and that you shared it with us~

I've never heard of shower rod covers, but that is a clever way to use them.

Brilliant! Unfortunately it won't work for us as we have the wire closet thingies.

Huh. That's a good idea. Thanks Betty.

Great idea! Now, if I could just get mine weeded down so I could get to the rod.

Miss Chef and I got a custom closet put in a couple of years ago, with metal bars, and whenever I slide my clothes back and forth looking for the one shirt that's ironed, I feel like I'm in a department store. So fay-ancy!

I need more closets, or less clothing

I've redone all the closets in our house over the years except for the ones in my bedroom. Maybe I'll get inspired.
