My Fab Weekend: Part Two

So what's a a girl gotta do the morning after she's had a fancy meal and sat through an opera?

Get out and move those bones, that's what.

My friend, Karen, organized a Secret Stair hike and we met up with her and three other friends on Sunday morning.

These are hikes that center around the historic staircases in the hills of Los Angeles.  The stairs were built in the 1920's.  Each hike leads through different neighborhoods.  This time we were in the hills of Hollywood.

It was a gorgeous day and the hike was a challenging one.  2.6 miles and 861 stairs!

Here I am, in a rare burst of running.

Did I mention we were in the hills?  Oh yes, we were!

Because of the shadows, it was tough to get great pictures of the stairs, but hopefully, you get the idea here.

Good friends, a beautiful day, a chance to use my leg muscles AND the company of a Certain Very Nice Man made the experience a great one.

I am looking forward to more Secret Stair hikes in the future!

Is life great or what?

I love the picture of the stairs with all the shadows! I think this would be fun to do as a leisurely walk. If I tried to do what you did, the ambulance would have to be called ;o)

BTW, I meant to mention yesterday I love the new header photo. You might consider it for the cover of your book.

Sounds like a fun weekend, but I could never do it! My legs are shaking now just reading about it! The town of Bisbee, AZ has a stair race each year. It's a beautiful little town, with a lot of art galleries.

Whew! I am out of breath. Which part takes your breath away more, the stairs, or the certain nice man? I love that you are moving on up in life. Keep on climbing!

Although the idea sounds wonderful, I know I wouldn't be much good on this trek. I'd wait for you on the park bench, sipping my coffee. :)

Those stairs are fascinating. I'm off to learn more about them, through the magic of google/wikipedia :)
