A Certain Very Nice Man (Yes! He is still around! Can you believe it?) and I got all dressed up this past weekend and had a fabulous night out in Los Angeles.
Even before we went into the building though, I knew it was going to be a special night. We ate a fabulous meal at a great restaurant and then watched the fountains outside against the sunset.
This small town country girl from Kansas discovered she actually liked the opera! Hey Mikey!

When my husband and I got married he insisted on buying his tuxedo stating that he wanted to own it so that he could take me to the opera every year for our anniversary. We live 45 minutes outside of Manhattan so its certainly doable.
This past August we celebrated our 10th anniversary (my 3rd marriage, his 1st). We have yet to make it to the opera but the other day I made him try on his tux and it still fits him.
So nice to see the smile on your face. It made me smile too.

I got into opera last year, through my daughter and the screenings of Met Live in hD; absolutely love it now, don't know how it escaped me before. Don Giovanni is a fab first one to see!

Opera has been a part of my life for a very long time. Last night we had a date night eating out and then watching the TSO's version of Die Fledermaus. It was such a fun piece, not tragic like so many are.

The first opera I went to was a total dud (Don't EVER go see Nixon in China). I was con into going again and loved the second one I went to (forgot the name of it). Now, when I'm asked to go, I go especially when it's on their dime ;o)
