Betty Checks In!

Hi My Betty People!

I am so sorry I have been AWOL from Blogland.

Who knew total home renovation would take over my life?

(Oh, yes.  Some of you told me that.)

We are in the home stretch now.

Look forward to pictures of the completed project soon.

For now though, let me toy with your fragile emotions as I show you bits and pieces.

The good news is I am no longer fixing my meals in the garage!

Oh!  And since the arrival of my kitchen sink I am no longer eating off paper towels and drinking out of plastic cups!

This is my current reading material!  Yes!  My refrigerator arrived yesterday!!!  After about a month of using the small one in the garage, I was THRILLED to get a big one again.  I went to the store and skipped through the fruit and veggie aisle.  I bought a BIG carton of orange juice!  I bought SIX apples!

This is my current fashion accessory.  I wear it all over the house, stopping to place a piece of the lovely blue tape on any imperfection I see.  The workers just love this.  I think I heard one suggesting I  wear it around my neck.  Apparently, it's that attractive!

I bought this rug and thought about taking it back, but Mabel has taken it over.  She is quite happy on it, so I think I will keep it.  I believe all major decorating decisions should be made by cats.  Who understands comfort like they do?

There are still lots of little details that need attention around here, but I am starting to see what my house will be like soon and it is so exciting.  School starts soon--a new start to a new year and it will be nice to come home to a house I love.

Hope all of you are well and happy!

Glad it's coming together! And if your cat likes the rug, then it's yours now.

Well, it's about darn time. :) Yes, cats choosing is a good idea. That rug will forever be a bit of fun, or until the cat decides she's had enough and it has to go. A whole new house right where you are - a great idea for recreating your beautiful life from the ground floor. Love it.

I wish I had marked imperfections when we did our addition years ago. The drywall guys were horrible and I'm left with bumps and smears all over. ugh.

You're almost there, Betty!! Then we will all be jealous of your place.

Yippy skippy our BB has emerged from underneath all the renovations and oh boy she got wild and crazy buying a large OJ and 6 yes six apples. BB you must get a hold of your impulse buying. Mabel has excellent taste in rugs and she deserves a fine throne after all these months of camping.
Hugs Madi and Mom

Wonderful. You look quite happy in the pic. As to the cat, yes, they already know they're in charge of decor. It's best you acknowledge it.

It's good to see you back and hear the good news of all the progress being made. I love the idea of you skipping through the grocery store- life's simplest luxuries are the best!

Oh, sweet Betty! I love this post, and the line "a new start to a new year" and coming home to a home you love. Wow. That's says SO much, my friend. I love the adventure this whole renovation has taken you on (although I'm sure you aren't "loving" it as much as I am), but it's an exciting time! I can't wait to see the final after shots, and can't wait for you to be settled in your new digs! LOVE IT!

I'm impressed that you are still wearing a smile through all of this renovation. I'm not sure I would be doing the same. Which is why nothing is being renovated in my house. LOL It's good to hear from you! Can't wait to see the final product pix!

Personally, I think Mabel has good taste. I like the rug. Anxious to see more photos of the finished renovation.

It all seems so impossible and then it all comes together. Oh, and if Mabel ever gets tired of the rug, you can send it to me.

What a striking rug - Mabel did good :)

Good idea about the blue tape to mark imperfections; must remember that for the future.

Keep on trudgin', Betty; almost there!

Looks to be coming along nicely, next time they suggest the blue tape as a fashion statement, just randomly stick a piece somewhere else and smile :)

Oh, Betty. You even know how to turn something like a renovation into a fun time (and a fun read).

I look forward to seeing pictures and reading about the end result. Good luck and keep up your beautiful spirit.

You are pretty flexible, able to eat in the garage and wear temporary bracelets. So glad you are in the final stages of renovation.
