Vacay Pictures

I know what you've been thinking.

Betty went to Kansas and all she brought back for us were stories that made us tear up.

How about some pictures today?

The countryside was so beautiful and green.

We drove by the farm where Betty grew up.

I went to the wedding celebration of the daughter and son-in-law of my best friend from childhood.

My sister, niece and I took a wild road trip!

We went back to our college alma mater and had a wonderful time walking around and reminiscing.

Thanks for visiting!

Hope you have a happy Sunday!

Road trip and how romantic where you grew up! I know, a farm is a farm, but it sure does look romantic.

Thanks for the trip. As an old farm girl I loved the farm pics.

I love how cows look like toy cows that were placed in fields when we drive past them because they are so still. How lucky for you to have grown up on a farm-tons of my cousins grew up on farms and I was always jealous of them. Every time I take a road trip I head for the back roads and take full advantage of the scenery!

Either that grass is really tall, the cows are really short, or all of them decided to sit at the same time. Whichever one it is, it is still a great shot. The farm house picture looks like something out of a movie.

I always think cows laying in a grassy field looks so peaceful don't they? Not a care in the world!

Aw, now I want to go back home to Ohio for a visit! There's something amazing about visiting the old homestead, and something comforting in knowing it's still there, ticking along with its own elongated lifespan.

Love the cows, all laying down. Did it rain that day? Seems like I remember growing up on a farm that cows laying down was a sign rain was coming.

And what a beautiful bride that girl was!!!

Looks like the cattle were truly lowing! Always good to go back to where you came from just to recharge a litle. Sounds like you had fun.

I can't remember (not unusual) if you have ever said... does any of your family still live on the family farm? Lovely images.

We took a road trip to Nebraska and Iowa last month. We stayed for three days on a farm B&B in Montezuma, Iowa. So beautiful! We're tempted to go back - but this time we'd fly into Des Moines and then drive for an hour.

Somebody needs to cut their hay and I once visited a fruit farm but they let me go. I wasn't ripe. :)

Sometimes I just don't want to recap my vacation, but just let it rest with my weary bones. I sort of figured that you were doing the same. :)

I'm glad that you shared your photos, though. I like the one with your sister. How sweet!
