Monday Morning Flowers with More Verbiage Than Usual

Ah, I see you there, seeking your Flower Love this morning!!

Don't be shy; come and get the good stuff.

There! Is your day starting to make sense?

Does your week look a little brighter?

Are your pants a little looser?

Are your wrinkles smoothing out?

Is your personality beginning to be more socially acceptable?

Have I gotten carried away in my questioning again?

Oh. Sorry.

Alert! The Following Short Memo is to be read ONLY by my Faithful Followers!
(All others/newbies, need to skip to the next section. You heard me! Skip down NOW! If you read the forbidden section, your eyes will burn like hot coals for the rest of the day!)

Hello, Love Buttons,

When I started this blog, I was somewhat hesitant to write in my own voice, so I decided to call myself Bossy Betty and write in the persona of a controlling, pushy person. I thought I could protect myself somewhat and have a lot of fun in the process.

Well, it IS fun to write in that persona and I still do it from time to time, but you, my dear people, know that Bossy Betty is actually a cupcake who feels deeply and who emotes on the page whenever the winds of life blow her small boat of emotions to and fro. I have, more than once, placed my pretty pink heart out there for all the world to see. I thank you for receiving it with velvet gloves.

However, when Lazarus from The LG Report asked me to do an interview at his blog, I couldn't help but slip back into my full Bossy Betty persona and I had a blast wearing those big, sassy pants again. I hope you'll head over and read my interview!

(Let's not let the newbies in my on secret soft side just yet.)

Newbies/First Time Visitors/Inattentive Blog Skimmers Start here!

Hey there, you people! Looking for a snippy, snooty, snotty blog? You've found it. Put on the tan tunics and follow Bossy Betty's every instruction. Got it? OK. Now let's get going over to The LG Report. Refreshments will be served. (You did bring some, didn't you? It was your turn!)

Betty reviews her Kansas roots and generally takes over The LG Report this morning.

Visit soon.

Visit often.

Visit only while fully clothed.

Thanks.

Hi Betty!

Beautiful blooms, wonderful prods (no, my pants aren't feeling any looser!)...I was an early visitor over at the LG Report and delighted to read your responses to each of the interview questions. I thoroughly enjoyed it and think you handled yourself admirably, putting that up start in his place where necessary (especially when he tried to get too familiar and call you Bossy!)

I'm so impressed with the way you manage to ignore/deny the existence of all other states that present a conflict of interest, or a threat to your beloved Kansas and I am so pleased you put the world straight on the location of that infamous penitentiary. I think you'd make a superb politician!

I'm hugely impressed with the rate at which teachers are turned out in Kansas, but even more so by the thoroughness of that early training.

And your interview was so much fun. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. But don't get a big head about it now. This is just one day out of 365 of them. Ha!

BB!!!!!! You are a woman of many faces and flowers!! And I for one join you in not recognising these audacious states who seem to want to absorb Kansas into their spelling atrocities!

Sunflowers ROCK!!! And are very good for you too! take care

Now I'm wondering which category I fall into regarding your followers. I relatively new, and certainly not a veteran.

Will the LG interview really burn my eyes?

I'll risk it! :)

I'm easily intimidated by bossy people, so I'm glad you are learning to show your softer side here. Loved the interview, especially the proposed new state motto for Kansas.

I'm meeelting from reading the forbidden paragraph. I hear you though. My blog is called 'Creepy Query Girl' but I'm not that creepy to be honest. Does the cothes rule really apply by the way?

Hello from a new reader, lured here by my Google Alert set for "largest ball of twine!" I love big roadside attractions, and that ball o' twine is #1 on my bucket list. The one is Kansas, that is!

Love the #2, tie-dye daisy. Very nice. I'll have to go check out the interview.

p.s. re: my book. It would be a very short one, as books go, but if you truly wanted one...

print, staple, voila! Best option I've got for the moment.

I was going to visit longer, but you said I had to go put my clothess on!

As a veteran follower, I know anything you write is well worth reading... with or without my clothes! I'm not dressed, but I'm off to read. Hope I don't scare the poop out of anyone!

Ms. A said...

Just finished reading. (and a live link would have been nice, but, I found it anyway) You totally rocked it! You da boss!

I'll take BB any way I can get her - cupcake or otherwise!

Lazarus said...

Dear Ms. Bossy,
I've learned by now not to get sassy with you, I know how you can verbally slap one down in an instant... Thanks again for making an appearance on The LG Report, as you have seen by now from comments there and here, the readers loved your great answers and are, no doubt, saying to themselves "More Bossy Please!" One of our best interviews ever, no doubt. Thanks again, you rock!

PS And if we ever meet in person I can guarantee you that I'll have the Evian at 79.5 degrees for you!

Don't worry I'm a newbie and didn't look at the soft side part or how you are a softie or anything like that so I won't expect anything but pure snippy, snooty and snottiness :)

This is such a deep blog! What can I say; you’ve hit the nail right on the head! You even added some videos to make it seem so much more real. You’ve got a great way of communicating with the reader, a great way of making me feel like what you have to say is just as important to me as it is to you. Keep it up!

I missed the Monday flowers ~ thank goodness for archiving! :)

Me thinks this 'bossiness' is just a cover up. ;)
