Betty Goes to the Christmas Parade

Hello Betty People!

Betty absolutely loves a parade. Yesterday was our town's annual Christmas Parade and it was a great one. This is not an event for wimps. It's a two hour extravaganza. The temps were in the high 70's/low 80's, so there were a lot of sweating people playing Christmas carols.

The bands are my favorites! (Betty was a proud band nerd!)

The Senior Center Walking Club! (Their T-Shirts read "Recycled Teenager")

There were hundreds of kids walking, including this Tae Kwon Do group.

This band featured ballroom dancers.

More bands.

Lots of dogs took part. I thought this one was particularly well-dressed.

The parade's not over until the giant tow truck comes by with the Big Guy riding on the back!

Hope you are all having great weekends!

We did the Christmas Parade thing this evening. Our CAP Squadron was part of the parade. Started raining just as the parade ended, so it worked out well.

I was a band geek in high school, but only my freshman year.

Fabulous pictures. No surprise, really, that the kids are drawn to Bossy Betty just like the rest of us.

Grand assortment (the operative word here...) of parade photos. Evidently I like, maybe adore even, TUBAS, of all things. The last parade I went to I took photos, returned home to put them on the computer, and discovered 97% TUBAS. The other 3 % were local Veterans. There has to be some meaning behind this.... :}

Wow I enjoyed the event. Nice to rub it in with the temp, it is 2 here with 5 inches of the white stuff last night.Ahhh a day for baking and making goodies.

Band nerds of the world, unite! Pouring rain here, so many thanks for the sunshine. And I know 2 seniors who would wear those shirts with as much pride as the marchers. Carry on, Betty!

Where are you and why is it green there?
And why is that dog panting?

Hi BB now that looks like a fun parade!! We love the recycled teenagers t-shirt. LOL

I cannot imagine a Christmas parade with the temps that warm. I guess you get used to it.

We are expecting brutally cold weather coming in tomorrow and Tuesday. They say the temps will not be out of the low 30's brrrr.
But the good news is next week is my last week of work for the year. I start my vacation 12/20-January 2.

Madi and I treasure you kind comments and thank you very much.
Happy Sunday,
Madi and Mom

Ahh, perfect temperature for a Christmas parade.

Aha ha ha ha! I love the dog in the tutu!! Temperatures in the 70's and 80's seem all wrong for a Christmas parade, but I'd love to have them here right now. It is 23 at the moment, it is snowing like crazy outside, and we are expecting high winds and blizzard-like conditions here tonight. Fun, fun!!

Lovely pictures of the parade, Betty. Thank you for sharing them. :-)

I think I qualify for a recyled teenager! (Love the shirt!!!) Great pics from the parade, Betty. Although, I can't quite get a handle on the temps!!!

Senior walking club has my vote for best float.

I cannot IMAGINE a Christmas parade. It's blowing and going snow at about 40 MPH, temp. in the teens.

Yes, I am jealous.

But still love this place!

I do love a parade and this one was great. Thanks! High 70's, low 80's? What I wouldn't give to have your weather right now! Last night the wind chill here was -40 degrees F. It has actually warmed up, though. It's 1 degree above 0.

Recycled teenagers - I love it!

I read and enjoyed the above post as well, with the pics of the flowers and the cat, but I can never resist a parade, especially one in December where there is NO snow!...I'm Canadian, we get excited about stuff like that.
