Poetry Tuesday: "Devotion" by Robert Frost

Devotion

The heart can think of no devotion
Greater than being shore to ocean -
Holding the curve of one position,
Counting an endless repetition.

A lovely sentiment this last day of November! I love the ocean so the poem gave me a reconnection to it this morning!

Nice waves and poem. Sounds almost like he was counting waves to surf.

Frost is a master at doing more with less, huh?

Thought of you recently when I watched "Waiting for Superman"
a controversial documentary re schools.

Keep teaching and inspiring and living!

I like this one very much, and have never seen it before. Thanks.

Also, thanks to a previous post of yours, I got my hands on a persimmon. Chose the ripest looking one of the bunch. Not bad at all. There were, however, a couple of slices that displayed the astringency you mentioned. I guess it wasn't 100% ripe. On the other hand, it must have been pretty close. I was not crying for mercy. It just set my teeth on edge like an overly tannic red wine.

Other than that, it was quite tasty - like a mix of all the tropical fruits, I thought: a hint of this, a hint of that. I suppose if I were to eat it more regularly, these would all meld into "persimmon."
