Your Monday Morning Flowers: The Red Collection.

Happy Monday to you all!

Hope your week ahead looks good.

Around here, people are grabbing the last bit of summer, taking those vacations, and heading to the beach and to the fair.

What's that chiming in the background of our days? Ah, schools have started testing their bells.

Hearing them, we celebrate the things of summer with even more zeal!

The last fudge bars are in the freezer and we know we must enjoy them soon.*

*Metaphor. Fudge bars represent the season of summer which is disappearing soon. Fear not. Real fudge bars will still be available in your grocer's freezer year-round. Calm yourselves.

A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken.

Betty, you cheered a rather bleary-eyed morning.

Especially with the zinnia.
LOVE 'em!

Blessings, dear one.

Just returned from meeting the daughter and grandkids at Tybee for their last fling before school begins next week in Atlanta. So glad I dont' have to worry about that anymore.

Please don't remind me... I can't stand the end of summer and the no scheduled days.

One more week left before I start back....

I am with Empress. The beginning of the school days brings me a sense of mourning, for another summer vanishing before my very eyes. And in my sad heart, I think-- very soon, these days with them by my side, will be no more.

Just a little tear there.

Sorry, don't mean to be morose on your beautiful flower Monday. Embrace the rest of your summer, Betty. Thanks as always for the lovely blooms.

I can't wait for summer to end. I can see in the forecast that it's supposed to get cooler next week, but I have to go through a few more 100 degree days this week. So I hope that proverbial fudge bar gets eaten quickly. lol

Gorgeous snaps. What kind of flowers are in the second picture?

I want to wear the flowers in the second photo around my neck like a feather boa! - G

Thankfully you clarified!

Love love love the quote. And I always love your pictures. They make me happy.
I would have had to protest if fudge bars were only a seasonal thing...not allowed!

Beautiful flowers.
Vacation is over and back to work.
Oh how I wish the lawn mower was broken... the grass had a coming out party while we were away.

Susan Fields said...

Oh yes - broken lawn mowers make for a perfect summer day.

I love your Monday morning flowers, thanks for sharing them!

What, no more fudge bars??? Oh, I just read your note, I'm better now. :)

Thanks for the reminder. Off to finish my ice cream now. Great shots btw.

Red is a GREAT color. I decided today that if I could eat only ONE COLOR food for the rest of my life, it would be red. Red Licorice, Red Swedish Fish, Red Wine...oops, is that a food? Of course it is! Oh - and RED MEAT. (I like my steak medium RARE).

Oh wait - this was about flowers and fudge bars wasn't it?

Those flower photos are more edible than the any fudge bar.

Gorgeous flowers! And I love that quote. :)

As a diabetic I guess your metaphor indicates that most of my days are like fading summers...unless I sneak a treat ..and I often do. Love your flowers this morning...vivid and beautiful!

Unbelievable how fast the summer has flown by. So many things I wanted to do and so little time left to do them. Ah well at least I got flowers today and I know there will always be fudge bars in the stores year round :)

Love the flowers, especially that last one of the rose. I am actually now looking forward to a slight cooling off in the weather as it is so very hard here to get out during the day when it is so hot. So I look forward to fall but winter I could happily skip over :-)
