What Happens in Vegas....

Hello Betty People!

The Road Trip continues!

Yesterday HOB and I got up early enough to take one final hike in Arches National Park and then climbed in the trusty Ranger pick-up and traveled from Moab, Utah to Las Vegas.

We went from this:

To this:

And from this:

To this:

Is this a great country or what?

Betty would hereby like to give a big BTU (Betty Thumbs Up) award to Utah for outstanding scenery.

Yow!

Incredible!

Gorgeous right?

However, at the end of a hard day of traveling so is this:

It's our hotel room in Las Vegas.
Ohhhhh, yes, baby.
You can't see all three of the televisions, but they are there--including the one positioned for viewing from the bathtub.

My favorite part of the room is the remote control for the curtains--both the roman shades and the big curtains.
As you can imagine, I have been playing with this a lot.
I think HOB is about to hide the remote.

Today we scurry away from Las Vegas (with our $38.00 of winnings!) and drive back to California.

Betty's been gone from home since July 1st.

It's been a great trip.
I've re-connected with my past, and strengthened my bonds with people who are important to me.
I've seen some fantastic sights along the way, some of nature's greatest wonders, some incredible man-made glories.

I've seen sights that have taken my breath away.

And yet the wonder I most long to see is still ahead on this trip.

It's that little tract house on that nondescript street that houses a yellow dog, two cats and a boy named Evan.

It's Home.

Sounds like it was a wonderful trip. You saw some beautiful sights. There's no place like home though, I agree with that. Hope you have a nice week. :)

Remote control for CURTAINS?? What are you going to do when you get home and have manually open doors, close drapes?
Great pictures, it looks like you are having a splendid time!

At least you left with SOME winnings.

There's NO place like HOME!

Oh my word!! How much money has HOB had to gamble to get those kinds of accomodations! HA!

Those are some mighty fancy accommodations. So did you feel like you came out of lifestyles of the rich and famous staying there? I know I would. +$38 is better than -. You're a winner Betty :)

Hi Betty-so glad you had a great time and the photos are beautiful (as ever) but most of all I like the ending. You always know how to bring your posts home to a great finish.

I love the variation in scenery. Sometimes vacations need to stimulate you this way! I must say, though, being a homebody, I was most impressed by your hotel room! It looks like you had some great weather too. Not too hot??

Such contrast between the natural sites and the cityscapes. I'm glad you had a good trip. It always is nice to come home though. :)

Gee Betty, good job at making me totally green with envy. I've always wanted to go to Vegas but my addiction to the slots has kept me away forever. Awesome hotel room!

Absolutely gorgeous! I haven't been to Utah since we made a Madelyn Girl, but it's something I look forward to once the girls are (both born and) older.

Any time you leave Vegas with money in your pocket is a good trip. Leaving with winnings is even better!
