He's quite the colourful duck, ain't he!

Nice! If you happened upon a Mandarin duck make sure to take some picture. They are even more colorful.

Pretty- we went to a bird sanctuary last week and had the opportunity to see some up really close- and we collect some beautiful plumes!

I especially like the last photo - I can just imagine him waddling away. :)

Wow what a puzzle Betty :)

Nice shots, a lot of color there if you pay attention.

Aww mallards are so colourful.. except right now, ours are moulting and look rather drab. Hard to tell the genders apart without that bright tell-tale green. Fun shots. :)

Quite creative! I was hoping you would tell us which part is the brisket...

I see we share the love of foot
photography.. I always get closeups
of feet ... human or otherwise.

love the feather texture shots and what a cool blue-green the head is.

How did you get so lucky that Mr. Duck let you get so close for those pictures?!

Betty - I just showed your photos to the 3yr old (Ella) and she yelled "BIRD!!!" (ok, so I have to work on her ability to accurate identify her feathered friends), but she was MOST excited in them because earlier today (while enjoying some fun in the sun at a nearby beach), she had an unfortunate run-in with a number of ducks (well, unfortunate for the ducks, that is.) She has a bit of an obsession with all feathered creatures lately ... these photos are PERFECT!!!

we had a whole family of ducks swimming in our pool recently. It really intrigued my two German shepards...they kept circling the pool and I was afraid they were going to have duck soup for dinner. Luckily, the ducks left the pool safe and sound and intact!

I gotta say that I am a fan of that shaking tail feather!

We, everyone, here in this house. Love ducks. We had a duck nest in the middle of our small downtown, and traffic would stop when the mom would jump off her nest and waddle across the street. We saw some beautiful ones in Cali., that we don't see here in Wisconsin. They had blue bills and were gorgeous.

Now this is a puzzle that I could actually solve! With only a few pieces like that? Pshaad! Easy peasy!
