Hiking With Betty and HOB

HOB and I went on a short hike near our house on Memorial Day and I thought I'd share some of the pictures I took while on it. Before we hit the trail, though, there was a certain amount of fascination with my cat, Mabel, yesterday, so I thought I would show you her, in her full glory.

She is big-boned, don't you know.

OK. Time to get going.
Get your hiking boots on!
(My current header of the windmill and the bee picture on Tuesday were from this hike as well.)

That's Boney Mountain in the background.

We ran into several friends along the way including this lizard.

This roadrunner was hanging around.

Poppies and bees were everywhere!

And the wild mustard was in full bloom. It was beautiful!

Hope you all have wonderful weekends!

Cool pics, Betty! And, while I'm not really a "cat" girl ... I'm ALL FOR supporting the big-boned! (Love that cat!) The photo of the wild mustard - so beautiful! The lizard and road runner might of had me a little nervous, though. Love nature ... from afar (like, from my computer screen). And I never met an air-conditioner I didn't love. But great pics, again, Betty!

Love the cat. Us big boned gals have to stick together!

Love, love, love the road runner! I saw one once - actually he ran right down the street at a campground we were staying at. I was talking on the phone to my sister and stopped in the middle of my conversation as I watched this huge bird run right in front of me. I was waiting for him to go "Beep, beep!" Unbelievable!

The rest of your photos are just gorgeous!

What a delightful journey! Were it not for the fact that I, too, am big boned and hiking is quite difficult, I would gladly accompany you on your walks.

I am reminded of a sleep shirt my daughter wore frequently during her chubby pre-teen years: pink, with a huge white cat, and the words, "I'm not fat - I'm fluffy."
